ORGAN RECITAL BY DR GALWAY
Those music-lovers who have not heard Dr V. E. Galway, Mus. D., Dunedin city organist, should take the op- [ portunity of doing so on Wednesday night when he will present an organ recital in St. John’s Church. Dr Galway is a brilliant performer on the organ and he has chosen for his recital many fine items which will give him every opportunity of displaying his artistry. Miss Dora Drake, of Dunedin, a singer very popular with Invercargill audiences, will also be present, and Mr Charles Martin will collaborate with Dr Galway in the first movement of Mozart’s pianoforte Concerto in A Major. The programme is as follows:— “Trumpet Voluntary” (Purcell), “Evening Song” and Fantasia and Fugue in G Minor (Bach), Dr Galway; aria, “Come Unto Him” (Messiah), Miss Dora Drake; first movement of Mozart’s pianoforte concerto in A Major, Dr Galway and Mr Martin; “Toccata in C” (Rheinber.ger) and Pastorale (Psahn 23, Verse 1), Dr Galway; aria, “Hear Ye Israel,” Miss Drake; “Radiant As the Sun” (Dallier), Prelude on “Rhosymedie” (Vaughan Williams) and Epilogue, Dr Galway,
