R.S.A. BUILDING FUND
APPROACH TO BE MADE TO TRADES UNIONS
A decision to approach the Southland Trades Council asking for support in the effort to raise money for the Invercargill R.S.A. building extension fund was made at a meeting of the publicity committee of the fund yesterday. It was stated that the Wellington and Lower Hutt Associations had approached the trades unions for support for similar extension schemes, and the opinion was expressed that the appeal should commend itself to the unions since so many of the men serving with the forces overseas were trade unionists.
Various aspects of publicity for the appeal were discussed and arrangements were made for launching the campaign to raise the required money. Lieutenant-Colonel W. Bell was appointed chairman of the committee.
