NEW COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF DUTCH INDIES ARMY
(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) BATAVIA, Oct. 25. Lieutenant-General Ter Poortem has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Netherlands Indies Army. He is at the same time head of the War Department. Lieutenant-General Ter Poortem has been the main advocate of strengthening the Air Force and is an outstanding specialist -in artillery problems.
