TENNIS CLUB The annual meeting of the Queenstown Tennis Club w’as held recently. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, the- balance-sheet showing a credit of £l3. The election of office-bearers resulted: President, Mr C. M. Inglis; vice-presidents, Miss L. A. White, Dr W. A. Anderson and Mr P. Docherty; secretary, Mr G. D. Cochrane; honorary auditor, Mr W. Hore; committee, Mrs C. M. Inglis, Misses Wheatley and Alden and Messrs S. Bone and Pittaway. It was recommended that an allround membership fee of 5/- be charged for the coming season, schoolgirls to pay 2/6. The secretary was instructed to invite the Cromwell Club to play a friendly match on October 25. It was decided to hold a Yankee tournament during Labour Day weekend. BADMINTON MATCH Members of the Queenstown Badminton Club travelled to Cromwell and played a friendly match against the club there. Queenstown winning by 17 games to 6. Results (Queenstown names mentioned first): — Women’s Singles.—Mrs Landrebe lost to Mrs Duthie 2-11; Miss McKenzie beat Miss Benzoni 11-1; Miss Me— Soriley lost to Miss Gibson 7-11; Miss Mcßride lost to Miss Gordon 5-11; Miss Thompson lost to Miss O’Kane 7-11; Miss McNeil lost to Miss Stumbles 3-11. Women's Doubles.—Mrs Landrebe and Miss McSoriley beat Mrs Duthie and Miss Benzoni 15-12; Misses McKenzie and Mcßride beat Misses Gibson and Gordon 15-11; Misses Thompson and McNeill lost to Misses O’Kane and Stumbles 3-15. Men’s Singles.—Nelson beat Neill 15-10; Luckie beat Jolly 15-13; R. Anderson beat Betts 15-9; G. Nelson beat Rankin 15-1; J. Anderson beat Fitzgerald 15-5.
Men’s Doubles.—Nelson and Luckie beat Neill and Jolly 15-9; R. Anderson and G. Nelson beat Betts and Rankin 15-9; J. Anderson and Luckie beat Fitzgerald and Ross 15-8.
Mixed Doubles.—Mrs Landrebe and Nelson beat Mrs Duthie and Neill 15-12; Miss McKenzie and Luckie beat Miss Benzoni and Jolly 15-6; Miss McSoriley and R. Anderson beat Miss Gibson and Betts 15-2; Miss Mcßride and G. Nelson beat Miss O’Kane and Rankin 15-1; Miss Thompson and J. Anderson beat Miss Gordon and Fitzgerald 15-12; Miss McNeil and R. Anderson beat Miss Stumbles and Ross 15-4.
