GIRL DIES OF INJURIES (P.A.) HASTINGS, September 22. Two persons, one of whom subsequently died, were admitted to hospital after an accident at Em intersection in the borough. Those concerned were: — Miss Edna Hoy, aged 18, head injuries, who died in hospital. Allen Hoy, aged 22, driver of the vehicle, head injuries. Miss Normie Simonson, aged 18, shock and minor injuries, who was medically attended at her home. The vehicle struck a telegraph pole. WOMEN SUFFER FROM GAS POISONING (P.A.) AUCKLAND, September 22. Two women patients who left the Avondale mental hospital on Sunday night were later found in a nearby house suffering from gas poisoning. The house where they were discovered was unoccupied, but the gas had not been turned off at the main. Both women when admitted to the Auckland Hospital were seriously ill, but improved after treatment. They were discharged today.
