Cloudy; Occasional Rain (Special) WELLINGTON, Sept. 21. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to strong westerly to north-westerly winds changing to south-westerly; the weather cloudy with occasional rain; moderate temperatures. The weather in Invercargill during the week-end was fine, although a strong wind on Saturday made conditions unpleasant. Yesterday was very warm and sunny. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was overcast and a light north-westerly wind was blowing. The barometer reading was 29.94 in (falling).
