BOY ADMONISHED
USE OF TRANSMITTING SET (P.A.) DUNEDIN, July 28. Unauthorized possession and use of radio transmitting apparatus were admitted by a boy of 16 in the Children's Court. The police said that three short broadcasts of gramophone records had been made and after a very long search were traced to the boy. The police emphasized the grave dangers which could result from unauthorized broadcasts in time of war. The Magistrate admonished and discharged the boy. He was satisfied the offence had been committed in ignorance of the regulations, but it was nevertheless a serious matter.
