NEED FOR ADEQUATE STIPENDS
PRESBYTERIAN CAMPAIGN The Rev. T. W. Armour, minister of Knox Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, who is convener of the Maintenance of the Ministry Committee of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, will arrive in Invercargill on Monday to conduct a maintenance of the ministry campaign. Mr Armour has been appointed by the General Assembly to conduct the campaign, which is intended to emphasize the necessity of adequate stipends for ministers of the church. The campaign is being organized by laymen of the church. It will begin in Southland on Monday night, when Mr Armour will address a meeting in Stobo hall at 8 p.m. The following meetings will be held during next week:—Tuesday, Winton Sunday school hall at ,8 p.m. (for Winton, Centre Bush, Forest Hill, Oreti and Hedgehope districts); Wednesday, Lumsden Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m. (for Dipton, Lumsden and Athol districts); Thursday, Otautau Sunday school hall at 8 p.m. (for Otautau, Orawia, Tuatapere, Nightcaps, Riverton and Isla Bank districts); Friday, Invercargill, at Stobo hall at 2.30 p.m. (for Woodlands, Kennington, Oteramika, Waianiwa, Wallacetown and Orepuki districts); Saturday, Waimahaka at 2 p.m. (for Fortrose and Tokanui districts). There will be services also at Knox and First Churches on Sunday, August 3.
