PRESIDENT’S APPEAL

WOMEN’S DIVISION CONFERENCE “Let us go home with renewed determination to do our bit for the war effort, ever unitedly, with courage, love to man and trust in God,” said Mrs Noel Adams, Dominion president, in presenting her annual report at the Dominion conference of the W.D.F.U. in Wellington. So only should people atone fox - the sacrifices being made foxthem and make life for those around them still glorious with promise fox- the future.

“The Merchant Service appeal for help is to be met by the division, and in this connection the scarcity of wool yarn is deplorable in a wool-producing country,” said Mrs Adams. “Having to revert to the old-fashioned method of spinning our- own yarn is a direct hindrance to speedy help, and we must call upon the Government and all responsible people to rectify the position without delay.” Mrs Adams spoke of personal ways to help the wax- effort — by eliminating waste in homes and keeping families fit, thus saving hospital and doctors’ services, and so conserving social security payments. “It is the people who have to beax- the burden and foot the bills sooner- or later, so the quicker we start to do our share the better,” she said.
