ORPHANS’ CLUB

VARIED PROGRAMME PRESENTED

The fortnightly meeting of the Invercargill Orphans’ Club was held on Saturday night when the president (Bro. J. H. Reed) presided over a very good attendance of members and visitors. A choir of 31 voices from the Borstal Institution under Mr Kennedy Black provided the first part of the programme. Concerted numbers and solos were thoroughly enjoyed. One new member was welcomed. The orchestra under Bro. F. Lange presented the march “King’s Herald,” the overture “Rosamunde,” and a suite “Intermezzi.” Songs were given by Bro. Dr Stanley Brown, Messrs L. Adamson and W. Liddell and a clarinet duet by Bros. C. Fleming and E. Truscott. The accompanists were Bros. J. H. Watson and F. Jones.
