RETAIL MOTOR TRADE
NEW ORGANIZATION FORMED During recent months a complete reorganization of the retail motor trade organizations has been carried out, and a new organization has been formed under the name of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association, which incorporates the following sections of the motor trade:—Garage proprietors, pet-
rol resellers, tyre resellers, automotive engineers, automotive electricians and battery dealers, body traders. At a recent meeting of the Dominion Council, Mr J. F. Cousins, who has occupied the position of general secretary to the New Zealand Garage Proprietors’ Association, announced his retirement after nearly 24 years’ service. The council appointed Mr C. R. Edmond, of Wellington, as general secretary of the new organization and Mr F. A. Knight as assistant secretary. Mr Edmond is president of the New Zealand Motor Trade Federation, and has
for a number of years been general manager of Todd Motors Ltd. Mr Knight has been secretary of the New Zealand Petrol Resellers’ Association for a number of years and also secretary of the New Zealand Motor Trade Federation. It is expected that the new organization will bring added strength to the whole motor industry throughout New Zealand.
