SCREEN BIOGRAPHY OF WILLIAM PENN
The latest news in the British motionpicture industry concerns the making of an Anglo-American film. It was the inspiration of the young English producer, Richard Vernon, after hearing President Roosevelt’s inaugural address. He was so struck by the similarity between Mr Roosevelt’s views and those expressed by the Quaker leader, William Penn, that he persuaded British National Films to undertake a large project—the life of this Englishman who founded the Quaker State.
