COMPASSIONATE LEAVE FOR N.Z. SOLDIER

SYDNEY, May 26. Among the returned wounded soldiers were five New Zealanders, one of whom, Bombardier J F. Baldwin, of Avondale, Auckland, is returning to New Zealand on compassionate leave. He is a member of the 7th New Zealand Anti-tank Regiment, which went to England last year. He emerged unscathed through scores of air-raids and after fighting in several battles in Libya received news of the deaths in New Zealand of his father, his mother, his brother and his eldest child. Because of these bereavements he has been granted extended leave, which he is spending with his wife in New Zealand.
