Dr A. E. McMillan will leave Invercargill tomorrow morning for Wellington, where he is to be married. He will return to Invercargill at the end of the week.

Constable- E. S. Skipworth, of Tuatapere, is vistiing Bluff.

Mr J. R. Milligan, of Dunedin, returned north by yesterday afternoon’s express after a visit to Invercargill.

Dr W. G. Davidson, of the Otago Medical School, will spend a few days in Invercargill this week. Mr Arthur Knight, of Forest Hill, was a passenger by yesterday afternoon’s express for Dunedin. Mr L. R. Lopdell will leave Invercargill tomorrow morning for Wellington to attend a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Union. Mr A. C. Millar, a member of the staff of the Invercargill branch of the A.M.P. Society, who has been transferred to the Wellington office, left by Sunday night’s express. Before his departure a presentation was made to Mr Millar by the district manager, Mr V. J. Wise, on behalf of the office and field staffs.

At the annual meeting of the Southland Acclimatization Society last night a motion of sympathy was passed with the relations of the late Mr O. J. Howells, who was a member of the council of the society. The president (Mr S. M. Macalister) said that Mr Howells had been a most valuable member of the council.
