FAT SHEEP DOWN 1/A HEAD SMALL YARDING OF FAT CATTLE Values of fat ewes and wethers dropped 1/- a head on last week’s rates at the Lorneville stock sale yesterday. There was quite a full yarding of fat sheep with a bigger percentage than usual of wethers. Good quality wethers realized up to 27/-. Good quality lambs made up to 30/-. The yarding of fat cattle was small, and except for a few sorts it was of rather poor quality. Medium quality bullocks made up to £ll/15/-. The yarding of store cattle was a small one and comprised mostly empty cows, there being only two small pens of bullocks offered. Three-year-old steers made from £6/10/- to £B. A pen of mixed sex calves sold at £2/12/6. Best empty cows made up to £4/5/-, others £3 to £3/15/-, and cull sorts down to £l. A pen of speyed cows realized £3/10/-. There was a better demand for dairy cows at profit, best sorts making close on £l3 and others £9 to £lO/10/-. Factory calvers sold at late rates. Bulls made from 10/- to £l.
