WOMEN’S DIVISION

RIVERTON.— The meeting 'of the Riverton branch was held in Fleck s Hall. Miss A, E. McNaughton presided. It was decided to make an autographed quilt to be sent overseas for use in a military hospital. The autographs, which will be stitched in, will be of wives, mothers, sweethearts, or a soldier’s name, and each signature will cost 6d. It was also decided to make another division supper cloth, which will also be autographed, similarly to one that the division possessed a year ago. Mrs S. Helm promised to do the necessary tatting. Competitions resulted as follows: Best bloom, Mrs S. Helm; oven scones, Mrs I. Blacke; cabbage, Mrs I. Blacke 1, Mrs L. Stuart 2 and 3.

GORGE ROAD.— There was a fair attendance of members present at a meeting held in the Gorge Road hall. Mrs Stewart presided. It was decided to meet and make parcels for the soldiers on June 7. Competition prizes won by several of the members were donated to a soldier’s parcel.
