FILMS & PLACERS
In “The Sea Hawk,” which comes to the Regent Theatre on Friday, Errol Flynn is featured as the daring captain of a buccaneer ship. His leading lady is Brenda Marshall, and Flora Robson, Donald Crisp, Alan Hale and Claude Rains are prominent, in the large supporting cast. In order to swell the treasury of their country and satisfy their own lust for adventure, Flynn and other “sea
hawks" of the day sailed the seas, hunting for enemy ships to loot and plunder. Flynn is secretly favoured by the Queen, but he has an unrelentless enemy in the Chancellor of the court, who is in league with the Queen’s foreign enemies. Henry Daniel portrays this character. The final duel between the two provides one of the most thrilling finales ever filmed. Michael Curtiz, master of the stirring action picture, was the director.
