RECRUITS FOR AIR FORCE
Ninety Interviewed In Invercargill
More than 90 recruits were interviewed by the Air Force Selection Committee during its sitting in Invercargill yesterday. The Selection Committee comprises Squadron Leader A. C. McArthur and Mr L. A. C. Warner, educational officer. 1 In an interview, Squadron Leader McArthur said that the Air Force was now amazingly well equipped to handle the large numbers in training. A constant stream of volunteers was required to ensure air training centres working to capacity. New Zealand was giving definite and effective support to Britain’s challenge for air supremacy and that support must be maintained. Squadron Leader McArthur said he was very pleased with the good response yesterday, and the i standard of men offering was high. ! The Selection Committee will conclude its sitting in Invercargill today and will interview applicants from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
