BRITISH RAILWAYMEN’S WAGES RAISED

(8.0.W.) RUGBY, May 17. Railwaymen’s wages have been increased under an award made by the Railway Staff National Tribunal. The award provides that as from June 1, 1941, the existing special war advances shall be increased by 4/- a week in the case of the adult male wage staff (making a total war advance of 11/- a week), and by £lO annually in the case of adult male clerical supervisors and other salaried staff (making a total war advance of £2B a year), with proportionate increases for females and juniors.
