Cloudy With Morning Drizzle (Special) WELLINGTON, April 28. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate but freshening east to north winds. The weather cloudy with scattered morning drizzle. Moderate temperatures; seas moderate. Following is the Dominion forecast:— The weather cloudy to overcast generally with patches of mist and drizzle along the east coast. Scattered rain over the Auckland province and extending southward to Canterbury and Westland. Temperatures cool to moderate. Winds.—Easterly to north-easterly, strong over Auckland and Taranaki provinces, elsewhere moderate to fresh. Seas—New Zealand waters: Becoming rough north of East Cape and offshore north of Wdstport; otherwise moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong north-easterly winds with rough seas in the northern portion and fresh easterlies with rather rough seas in the southern portion.
Although the sky was overcast throughout the day, the weather was fine in Invercargill yesterday. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was cold and foggy. The barometer reading was 30.30 in (falling).
