COMBINED PARADE IN INVERCARGILL

It is proposed to hold a combined parade in Invercargill of the Home Guard, the members of the Emergency Precautions Scheme organization and the members of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary. The object of the parade is to raise funds for the organizations. The money collected will be used to purchase necessary equipment. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr J. R. Martin) yesterday sent a telegram to the Minister of Man-power (the Hon. R. Semple), stating that it would be appreciated if the Minister could arrange for a tank to be made available for the proposed parade in Invercargill.
