NO FARRIER IN GORE
SUITABLE ARRANGEMENTS TO BE MADE — A deputation from the Gore Trotting Club waited on a meeting of the committee of the Gore Racing Club about the difficulty caused Gore trainers by the lack of a farrier in the town. After a short discussion a subcommittee representative of both clubs was appointed to make arrangements. Those present at the meeting were: Messrs G. W. Whittingham (president), H. A. Price, I. T. Martin, P. G. Ross, R. J. Ritchie, M. R. Lawlor, A. T. Pettigrew and F. Wallis. A motion of sympathy with the relations of Mr F. Wallis, sen., was carried, the members standing in silence as a mark of respect. A decision was made to have a seller at next month’s meeting to dispose of tickets in the art union for the thoroughbred colt, War Effort. Mi' A. T. Pettigrew was appointed honorary treasurer in place of the late Mr F. Wallis, and the vacancy on the committee was met by the appointment of Mr A. J. Hawke. A decision was made to engage the band for both days of the club’s approaching meeting.
