DECREASES IN NUMBERS OF PATIENTS

Patients in the Southland Hospital at the end of September numbered 147 compared with 150 at the beginning of the month, stated a report submitted to the Southland Hospital Board at its meeting yesterday. During the month 245 patients were admitted and 235 discharged. There were 44 patients at the beginning of the month in the Gore Hospital, and 41 at the end of the month. There were 74 patients admitted and 76 discharged. At the Riverton Hospital there were 53 patients at the beginning, and 44 at the end of the month. At the Lake County Hospital there were 10 patients at the beginning and 11 at the end of the month. The respective figures for the Lorne Infirmary were 86 and 83. Two hundred and six patients and 225 Out-patients were X-rayed at the Southland Hospital during the month. Twenty private patients were X-rayed and 640 radiographs taken. During the month 281 out-patients and 35 patients were treated by the massage department.
