SHORT SITTING OF HOUSE
Barrage Of Urgent Questions
SECRET SESSION TO BE HELD TODAY
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 21.
Parliament resumed this afternoon after an adjournment of almost three weeks, and although the sitting lasted only from 2.30 p.m. until 5.20 p.m. a number of interesting matters was brought forward. The sitting opened with a barrage of urgent questions on various matters, mostly directed against the Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) and then departmental reports which had been made ready during the adjournment were presented. Two of the washing-up Bills of the session, the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill and the Local Legislation Bill, were next introduced and the Thames Borough Commissioner Amendment Bill and the Health Amendment Bill appeared later in the day. The Carriage by Air Bill was also introduced. These measures will be dealt with on Friday. The ministerial replies to questions were considered by the members during part of the afternoon. Tomorrow members will meet in secret session.
