BOOKMAKERS FINED
(United Press Association) DUNEDIN, August 21. Fines totalling £5O were collected in the City Police Court this morning when Spensley Arthur Workman and Thomas Joseph Gray pleaded guilty to charges of carrying on businesses as bookmakers on August 16. The charges were heard before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M. Workman, who had two previous convictions, was fined £3O and costs, and Gray £2O and costs.
