PLAY-READING AT WOMEN’S CLUB
Mrs T. F. Gilkison, president of the Play-Reading Circle of the Southland Women’s Club, extended a welcome to members at the circle’s gathering last evening, when “The Celebrity,” by Jerome K. Jerome, was read. The room was attractively decorated with blossom.
The following was the cast of the play:—The celebrated John Parable, Mrs J. N. Armour; his friend, Archibald Quincey, Mrs A. Owen-Johnston; his betrothed, Miss Bullstrode, Mrs J, S. Robbie; his secretary, Miss Dorton, Mrs H. Drees; his cook, Comfort Pryce, Miss I. Fenn; his manservant, Illingworth, Mrs H. Parker; his caretaker, Mrs Meadows, Miss I. Roscow; his rival, Joseph Onions, Mrs R. Robb; Sunnybrook Jim, who went bail for him, Mrs T. F. Gilkison; chorus, Miss J, E. McLeod.
