The resignation of the Cabinet is believed to be the outcome of demands made by the Army, which are said to include drastic action in the war against China. It is understood that a completely new political structure will be established and many newspapers suggest that Prince Konoye, who is a man of high standing, will be the new Prime Minister. The War Minister, General Hata, had his usual consultations with the Prime Minister today and expressed his support of the aspirations of the Navy and the Army.
