USE AS TERRITORIAL CAMP

RACECOURSE AND RUGBY GROUND AT WANGANUI (United Press Association) WANGANUI, July 16. Following the acceptance by the Army Department of the offers of the Wanganui Jockey Club and the Wanganui Rugby Union to allow the use of the racecourse and football ground for a territorial camp it may be necessary to abandon the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Show. Two hundred officers and non-commissioned officers are to enter the camp on August 8, with several hundred men following on August 15. The show is scheduled for November 13 and 14 at the racecourse and it is expected that the ground will be in use by the military in November. The Jockey Club may also find it difficult to hold its spring meeting on September- 5 and 7. Negotiations are now taking place.
