APPEAL DISMISSED
(United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 27. Reserved judgment was given by Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court dismissing the appeal by Perry Hubert Meuli against his conviction in the Magistrate’s Court on a breach of Section 23 of the Medical Practitioner’s Act in that not being registered he practised a branch of medicine and surgery under a name or title implying that he held a diploma or degree or was otherwise specially qualified to practice. The judge said the evidence showed that the appellant held himself out as « endocrinologist and practised in rooms o which were door plates inscribed: “Endocrinologist, glands, nerves, mental disorders,” and “Psychoanalyst, endocrinologist and mind, nerves and glands.” It was also shown that he charged a woman patient seven guineas for treatment.
The appeal was dismissed, with seven guineas costs.
