OIL DRILLING (United Press Association) GISBORNE, June 27. The New. Zealand Petroleum Company reports that at the Morere No. 1 well the proposed test of gas has been postponed and drilling is to be resumed- as soon as possible. At Midhurst the No. 1 bore is down to 640 ft and the reaming out completed, preparatory to setting the surface casing. The bottom of this hole is in shale. WAIKAKA STOCK SALE Only one pen of sheep was offered at the monthly stock sale held at Waikaka. This was a line of 71 ewe hoggets, which was sold by Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.,at 28/-*.
