WYNDHAM YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUB
The monthly meeting of the Wyndham branch of the Young Farmers’ Club movement was. held in the Murihiku Hall. The president, Mr F. Clay, presided over a large attendance of mem-, bers. . The president referred to the keen interest taken in the branch by the late Mr W. J. Marsh, and as a mark of respect all present stood in silence for a minute. The organizing secretary wrote asking for the names of all members going overseas with the expeditionary force and also asked that each club keep a roll of honour of such members. It had been decided to'extend members going overseas full privilege of membership, and members were asked to correspond with those overseas, and if desired, the journal of Agriculture would be sent to each member of the fighting forces. It was stated that so far only one member fo the club was overseas, and it was decided to send the Journal of Agriculture to him. The draw for the inter-club debate was tabled, the subject being “That the laxity of the modem divorce law has weakened the structure of present-day society.” The draw was: Drummond v. Thornbury; Lochiel v. Woodlands; Wyndham v. Dipton. In each case the affirmative will be taken by the first-
mentioned team. It was unanimously decided to enter a team, the members selected being Messrs P. Campbell, F. Clay, W. Brown, and K. Townley. RIFLE CLUB SHOOT At the weekly shoot of the MokoretaRedan Rifle Club there was a good attendance, the shooting on the whole being of good standard. The ,A grade highest score badge was won by V. Taylor and W. Cross won the handicap badge. W. Kerr won both badges in the B grade. In the women’s section Mrs A. Johnstone won the highest score badge and Mrs T. Robison the handicap badge.

ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING The annual meeting of St. Mary’s
Anglican Church was held in the Athenaeum. The Rev. James Morland presided over a good attendance. The annual report stated that services had been well maintained. The committee thanked the layreader (Mr H. F. Hicks), the organist (Miss Marsh), and all others who had in any way assisted in the maintenance of the services and in carrying on the work of the church. ■ Tlie chairman said that the church
had lost one of its oldest members in the late Mr W. J. Marsh, and asked all present to stand in silence as. a mark of respect. The following committee was elected: —Messrs S. Rice, M. C. Rice, C. E. Davey, C. G. Davey, W. F. Bennetto, H. F. Hicks, C. Gabites, and R. Wethey.
