PLAN TO DEPRIVE KING OF

FUNCTIONS

The Norwegian Foreign Minister, Professor Halvdn Koht, in a broadcast, stated that the Norwegian Government had received reports from Oslo that the Germans had forced representatives of the different parties in Oslo to consent to a plan under which King Haakon is deprived of his constitutional functions, the Prime Minister, M. Nygaardsvold, is dismissed and a council is established to take over the functions of the King and the Government.
