GERMAN COUNCIL IN OSLO
PLAN TO DEPRIVE KING OF
FUNCTIONS
LONDON, June 25.
The Norwegian Foreign Minister, Professor Halvdn Koht, in a broadcast, stated that the Norwegian Government had received reports from Oslo that the Germans had forced representatives of the different parties in Oslo to consent to a plan under which King Haakon is deprived of his constitutional functions, the Prime Minister, M. Nygaardsvold, is dismissed and a council is established to take over the functions of the King and the Government. Professor Koht stated that there was no constitutional body authorized to replace Parliament. King Haakon remained the constitutional King of Norway and King Haakon and the Government would continue to do their duty towards Norway.
