(United Press Association) DUNEDIN, June 26. At the Burnside stock sale there was a yarding of 233 head of fat cattle, which were in keen demand. Prices were higher by £l/5/- to £l/10/-, compared with last week. Extra prime ox made to £2O/7/6, prime £l5/17/6 to £l7/2/6, medium £l3/2/6 to £l4 7/6, light from £9/2/6; extra prime cows and heifers to £l4/17/6, prime £lO/17/6 to £l2/12/6, medium £B/17/6 to £9/12/6, light from £7/17/6. Stores had a good demand and sold at a 10/rise in value.

There was a medium entry of 1104 fat sheep, which were presented in good quality all round and were in eager demand. Prices were 3/- to 4/- above late rates. Extra prime wethers made to £2/6/-, prime £l/18/- to £2/1/6, medium £l/10/- to £l/12/-, light from £l/7/6, extra prime wethers to £1 13/6, prime £l/8/- to £l/11/-, medium £l/4/- to £l/6/6, light from 16/-. Fat pigs showed little change in value, best baconers bringing to £6/2/-.

SMALLER ENTRIES AT ■ ADDINGTON FIRMER SALE FOR FAT CATTLE (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, June 26. At the Addington market today entries were smaller and there was a firmer sale, particularly for fat cattle. Only a few store sheep were penned and there was a slightly better tone. Fat sheep numbered about 5000, including a small proportion of exceptionally prime wethers. For best quality values were better by 2/- a head Ewes were generally weaker, particularly export classes due to the cessation of freezing competition. Good wethers made 37/- to 41/-, tops to 47/-, medium to 28/-, ordinary to 25/-, light to 23/-, best ewes 27/- to 31/-, tops to 36/-, medium 23/- to 26/-, light 11/- to 16/6. Fat cattle numbered 342, the smahest yarding of the season. There was a big jump in values ranging from 30/to 40/- a head for the better classes and 20/- to 30/- for ordinary quality. Good beef made 45/- to 47/- per 1001 b, with prime medium weights 2/more, average 37/- to 42/- per 1001 b. Prime heavy steers made £l6/10/- to £l7/15/-, with tops at £2O/7/6, medium £2O/7/6; medium-weight steers £l4/10/- to £l6/5/-, ordinary sorts to £lO/15/-; prime heifers to £ll/15/-, medium grades £7/15/- to £lO, light heifers £7/5/-; extra prime cows £l5/2/6, other good sorts £B/10/- to £lO/5/-, light grade £6/5/- to £B. The porker entry was the smallest of the season. Prices were on a par with the best of last week. In the closing stages values rose by 3/- to 5/- a head. Choppers were again in small supply and maintained values. A similar position was recorded in the bacon market. The average price per lb of pork was 7Jd to 8d and bacon 7d to 7|d.
