NEW ZEALAND FLYER DECORATED

(Received June 25, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 24. A New Zealander, acting Flight Lieutenant W. G. Clouston, has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. The official citation declares that during recent operations in Belgium and France, Flight Lieutenant Clouston shot down four enemy aeroplanes and led his flight with determination, vigour and great personal gallantry. The King has approved the awards in recognition of gallantry displayed in flying operations against the enemy of 14 Distinguished Flying Crosses and Six Distinguished Flying. Medals. Brief details describing the actions for which the awards were made reveal acts of the greatest personal courage, initiative and skill. The majority of those to whom the awards were made have five, six of seven enemy aeroplanes to their credit.

Of the recipients of the D.F.C. one is a New Zealander, one a Canadian and one a South African.
