FIGHTING AFTER ARMISTICE

Sections Of French Army

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright)

(Received June 26, 2 a.m.)

LONDON, June 25.

Sections of the French Army were still fighting early this morning, some hours after the order to cease fire had been issued.

An announcement from Tokyo states that Japan is sending warships to French Indo-China. This action follows the agreement with France that the supply of arms to the Chinese Government through Indo-China be stopped. Several supervisory committees have been appointed in Indo-China to see that the agreement is carried out. The safety of refugee children in Europe is causing deep concern in the United States of America and the President (Mr Franklin D. Roosevelt) received as many as 2000 inquiries in one day from families anxious to adopt children. A lead has been given by the Press and one newspaper stated that the United States could receive 60,000 children or more.
