SOLDIER KILLED ACCIDENTALLY
DEATH OF WASHDYKE MAN IN EGYPT Advice has been received by cablegram that Private David Herbert Clarke, aged 22 years, younger son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Clarke, of Washdyke, South Canterbury, has been accidentally killed in Egypt. Private Clarke was a member of 4th Company, 27th Machine-Gun Battalion, New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
