INVERCARGILL STOCK EXCHANGE BUYERS FOR BANK OF N.Z. * SHARES There was no change of any note on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning. Government bonds had a good inquiry, with no sellers operating. Bank of New Zealands had buyers at £l/19/- and for the same bank’s long-term D shares £l/6/6 was offered. A net profit of £13,714 compared with £28,422 in the previous year is reported by Consolidated Brick and Pipe Investments, Ltd., for the year ended May 31. The earnings are almost entirely composed of dividends received from subsidiary companies. The directors recommend a final dividend of 1 per cent., making 3J per cent, for the year, against 5 per cent, in the previous year arid 4 per cent, in 1938.

FIRM MARKET AT McNAB SALE

There was a small yarding of cattle and sheep forward at the fortnightly McNab stock sale yesterday when the riiarket remained firm. There was a satisfactory inquiry throughout the sale. The only line of fat wethers offered brought 30/-. Fat steers brought up to £lO/5/- and down to £4/15/for lighter sorts. Fat heifers sold at up to £6. ■ The Southland Farmers Co-operative
