HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
PARISHIONERS’ ANNUAL MEETING
A fair attendance of parishioners of Holy Trinity Church was present at the anuual meeting, which was presided over by the Rev. S. A. Hurd. The vicar presented his report and gave a brief summary of the year’s work. He specially thanked the layreaders who had assisted with the church services, also the choir, social workers and all others who had helped during the year. Mr J. F. Miller presented the report of the wardens, which stated that the attendance for the year again showed an increase on the previous year’s figures. This was considered satisfac-tox-y and augured well fox- the coming year. The treasurer, Mr- J. Pickard, presented the financial statement which was considered highly satisfactory. The mortgage was again reduced by £lOO and matured shares to the value of £l4O with the Southland Building Society would bring about a further reduction of the mortgage. Mr Stott, Sunday School superintendent, referred to the important work of the school and thanked the teachers who so willingly assisted. He . appealed for the co-operation of parents by sending their children to attend the school.
The election of officers fox- the ensuing year resulted as .follows: Vicar’s warden, Mr J. F. Miller; people’s warden and treasurer, Mr J. Pickard; hon. secretary, Mr G. A. Stevens; committee, Messrs F. Cook, G. Davenport, J. H. Davenport, A. Dix, M. W. Grantham, J. Pedlar, S. Simons, J. J. Stott and V. Treweek; auditor, Mrs Wood; representatives to the Parish Vestry, Messrs J. Pickard and J. H. Davenport; social committee, Mesdames Treweek, Davenport, sen., Stott, Delamare, Pickard, Sycamore and Sutherland. After the meeting a social hour was enjoyed.
