TISBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the Tisbury School Committee was held in the school room last week. Those present were: Messrs L. Gilson (chairman), C. Purdue, E. W. Lawrence, F. Evans, G. Jacquiery, W. Shepherd, C. White and the head teacher, Mr A. Kinross, who reported as follows:—Roll, boys 58, girls 57, total 115; admissions, 3; withdrawal, 1. 1 II During the winter months cocoa is being provided for the pupils. A supply of material has been brought for use in the poker work section and a small duplicator for use in the school. 1116 pupils are organizing a concert and bottle drive for patriotic purposes. The sand pit is now ready and when the weather is fine it will prove a boon to the small children. The secretary was . instructed to procure an estimate of the cost for a bicycle shelter. It was decided to grant the teachers a sum of money to enable them to purchase wool for knitting suitable articles for use by the soldiers overseas.
