INFLUENZA OUTBREAK ABATING

(United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 24. So rapid has been the recent improvement in the influenza outbreak among soldiers of the Papakura camp that more than 100 of the beds at the Auckland Training College are being removed immediately. Only 81 patients were left at the college today. The total number of cases has dropped to 268 and as a result it is proposed to begin closing the emergency hospital at the Training College and to transfer any patients who are left to the Ellerslie racecourse wards. Ellerslie today accommodated 154 men.
