BRAZILIAN PAYMENTS.— The Treasury announces that two further orders have been made under the Defence and Finance Regulations 1939 giving effect to an arrangement which has been made with the Brazilian authorities for regulating payments between Britain and Brazil. Under the provisions from June 24 all payments to residents in Brazil from residents in the United Kingdom of a commercial or current financial nature may only be made in sterling to a Brazilian special account with a bank and all exports from Britain to Brazil must be paid for in sterling from a Brazilian special account.
