GIFT EVENING AT LONGBUSH
PRELUDE TO MARRIAGE Miss E. Sellers and Mr J. Cleine were recently honoured by the Longbush residents at a gift evening, in honour of their approaching marriage. A large crowd was present. Dancing was enjoyed, interspersed with items by Miss M. Mclntyre and Mr I. Mclntyre (violin and piano duet) ; Mr Lister (songs); Miss Laurie (sword dance); Mr J. Waddell (bagpipe selections). Music for dancing was supplied by Mr Riddle and Mr Reynolds. Mr S. Evans was master of ceremonies.
During the supper interval the pre-
sentation of numerous gifts was made by Mr S. Evans. Other speakers were Mr D. McKenzie, Mr O. Beer, Mr Foie and Mrs Elliot, who all spoke highly of the guests of the evening. Mr J. Cleine replied. Novelty dances during the evening were won by Mr and Mrs S. Mclntyre and Miss E. Sellars and Mr A. Shand. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs A. Sellars, Mr and Mrs J. Cleine, Mr and Mrs S.
