RATE NOTICES WALLACE COUNTY COUNCIL: RATES 1940-41. Pursuant to the provisions of the “Counties Act, 1920” and the Rating Act, 1925” and amendments thereof. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Wallace County Council to make and levy on Wednesday 10th July, 1940, for the period commencing Ist April, 1940 and ending on the 31st March, 1941 on the Capital value of all rateable property in the Valuation Rolls of the Ridings respectively:—A General rate of three farthings in the £ in Orepuki, Wairio, Pourakino, Wairaki and Mararoa Ridings; one half-penny in the £ Waimatuku Riding; one penny in the £ Aparima Riding; five-eighths of a penny in the £ in Otautau Riding; seveneighths of a penny in the £ in Waiau Riding. And under Section 52 of the “Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926” a Charitable Aid rate of seven-sixteenths in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property in the County as entered in the Valuation Rolls payable in one sum at the office of the Wallace County Council, Otautau, 19th August, 1940. The Valuation Rolls are open for inspection during office hours at the Wallace County Council Chambers, Otautau. Dated at Otautau this 12th June, 1940. G. B. BURNS, County Clerk. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Wallace County Council to make and levy on Wednesday, 10th July, 1940, for the period commencing Ist April, 1940, and ending 31st March, 1941, in respect to standing trees cut in this County and converted in that year from log into sawn timber. A general rate of pne half-penny per hundred feet board measure on timber so converted in that, year, payable in one sum at the office of the Wallace County Council Otautau, on the Ist April, 1941.
