DEFENCE OF EIRE.— The Minister of Defence, Mr Frank Aiken, in the Senate said that if there was not a better volunteer response for recruiting “we may have to consider national registration and even go beyond that.” Senator The MacGillicuddy of The Reeks said that the lethargy in some districts was almost incredible.
