FIRMER TONE IN STATE LOANS

INVERCARGILL STOCK EXCHANGE OVERSEAS MINING SHARES QUIET There was a slight advance in the price of Government securities on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday morning. Buyers for 3j> per cent. Stock advanced their offers to £99/15/-. Bank of New Zealand shares were the only line in their section to be inquired for, the quotations being: Buyers £1 18/-; sellers £l/19/3. . . Other sections were quiet, particularly the overseas mining group. Sales of Bank of New Zealand shares at £l/18/6 and Associated Motorists Petrol at £l/6/9 were reported.
