AUSTRALIAN SHARES IN U.S.A.
HOLDERS ORDERED TO SELL CERTAIN SECURITIES
CANBERRA, May 1. The Treasurer, Mr P. C. Spender, announced that Australian holders of shares in 20 specified American companies had been ordered to dispose of the shares within the next six months and thereafter lodge the proceeds in dollars in the Commonwealth Bank in New York. They will ultimately receive payment in Australian currency exchange.
