In the battle for Trondheim the German thrusts, in the shape of a Y, up the Osterdal and Gudbrandsdal valleys from Oslo have been countered by Allied forces moving from Andalsnes and Molde. Allied troops, starting the northern half of a pincers movement against Trondheim from Namsos have been met by the Germans at Stenkjaer, A German mechanized unit crossed from the Osterdal valley to the Gudbrandsdal valley but was met by British troops at Jerken.
