Fair To Cloudy
(Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, April 30. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Light to fresh winds from a westerly quarter. Weather fair to cloudy and cold. Sea slight. Following is the Dominion' forecast:— Weather for the most part fair to fine, but with morning low cloud in many places, and possibly some scattered drizzle. Temperatures still rather cold, with some frosts in the south tonight. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone which is gradually losing intensity extends from the Tasman Sea over southeastern Australia. Winds. —Mainly light to moderate in force and rather variable, but with southerly directions predominating at first. Seas (New Zealand waters). —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.— Light to moderate and variable winds, and slight seas. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine but cool. At one o’clock this morning the weather was cool and overcast. A light breeze was blowing from the south-west. The barometer readings for the last three mornings have been as follows: — This morning (falling) 30.10 in. Tuesday 30.27 in. Monday 30.23 in.
