FALL ON VESSEL AT BLUFF
A greaser named Michael Connelly suffered fractured ribs and concussion when he fell down a cylinder in the engine room of a vessel at Bluff yesterday. He was admitted to the Dee street hospital and his condition is satisfactory. DRUM OF BITUMEN EXPLODES (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 30. A drum of bitumen caught fire and exploded when being emptied into a public works sprayer in Palmerston yesterday, Robert Walsh, a lorry driver, suffering burns to the arms and fact necessitating hospital treatment. Another man was less severely burned. WOMAN FATALLY INJURED AUCKLAND, April 30.
Extensive injuries which proved fatal were suffered by Mrs Edith Maude Roy, aged 43, of Onehunga, when she was struck by a,motor-lorry in Onehunga today. She was taken to the Auckland Hospital, where she died. Her injuries included a fractured skull and fractures of both legs.
