Memorial Medal For Walker
Atholl Stubbs, champion walker of New South Wales, has been awarded the Coombes Memorial Medallion for 1939-40, given to the most outstanding athlete of the year ift Australia. Stubbs is the fifth athlete to receive the award since its inception at the end of the 193031 season. Previous winners of the trophy are J. A. Carlton (twice), Jack Metcalfe (four times), Jack Mumford (twice), and Brian Dunn (once).
